Language Week Celebration

The Language Week Celebration was held on July 18, 2025 at St Mary’s Auditorium. The event show-cased the linguistic diversity of India and aimed to inspire in students an appreciation for different languages and cultures.

The dignitaries were warmly escorted by the Head boy and Head girl. The Master of Ceremony, Misha Sayed extended a heartfelt welcome to the Principal and the President of the function Rev. Fr Vijay Joyson D’souza; the Chief Guest Ms Poornima and the Vice Principal Ms Rita Quadras. The cultural program commenced with a delightful action song in Hindi performed by the students of Grade 1 which captivated the audience with its energy and charm. This was followed by a soulful recitation of a folk song in Kannada by the students of Grade 5 and 6, paying tribute to the richness of regional literature. .

Adding to the celebration of multilingualism, students of Grade 9 staged an English skit 'The wings of Icarus'- a story from Greek mythology. The Chief Guest Ms Poornima in her address emphasized the importance of language in building relationships and bridging gaps.The President of the function Rev. Fr Vijay D’souza in his presidential address appreciated the efforts of students and teachers in bringing out the rich potentials of language through creative presentations. The Language Week was a wonderful platform for students to express themselves and celebrate the linguistic heritage of our country. The winners of the various competitions conducted in connection with the language week celebration were felicitated by the Principal. The celebration concluded with the National anthem
